'One morning In July 1943 I met a girl who Informed me that Mussolini had been toppled and arrested. It did not upset me at all! Dr Piero Ottone , former Editor of the Corriere delta Sera and now Chairman of the board of the liberal daily newspaper, LaRepubbltca, grew up under Mussolini and relived his childhood at the 30s exhibition held recently in Milan. Reflecting on the rise of fascism and on the war, he recalls how his attitude to the dictator changed.
