Mr Alan Melville introduces MISS SANDRA DUGDALE (soprano) MR WILLIAM BENNETT ( flute) MR CLIFFORD BENSON (piano) in a programme of charming music that might well have been performed in an English parlour in the reign of Queen Victoria.
Among the items are affecting melodies by several musical knights - Sir Arthur Sullivan , Sir Charles Stanford , Sir Henry Bishop and Sir William Sterndale Bennett , as well as little-known salon pieces by M Chopin and Herr Richard Wagner - and not forgetting Mrs Florence A. Marshall.
