Since the first World Theatre season in 1964 London has seen the work of nearly 50 theatre companies from all over the world. During the current season at the Aldwych there have already been productions from South Africa, Spain and Greece MICHAEL BILLINGTON and HAROLD HOBSON discuss the value of such visits for the British theatre.
From New York OLEG KERENSKY considers the American theatre on and off Broadway.
There is also discussion about other new productions in London. including The Londoners which brings Joan Littlewood back to the Theatre Royal, Stratford East.
