A talk occasioned by Léger and Purist Paris, an exhibition at present at the Tate Gallery in London. In the ten years after the first world war Leger had to deal with Cubism, Futurism, Simultaneism, with Orphism, Purism, and Neo-Plasticism, all current in Paris at that time. Leger's art did deal with all these styles, Tim Hilton says, but on his own terms,
