3: Bodily Function
For the first few months of its life a baby does little more than eat. and inevitably the parents get preoccupied with things like feeding schedules, wind and nappies. The mother has to choose between breast and bottle feeding, and some people think this affects the sort of relationship she develops with the child. The health visitor and local welfare clinic can often help with feeding problems and are always at hand if the baby gets ill. Elizabeth and Henry had a dramatic experience of illness with Robert when he was four months old.
A CHILDREN'S SPECIALIST with HENRY AND ELIZABETH MEADOWS and JOYCE JAMESON a health visitor
