Mickie Most 's career as a producer has revolved around the making of pop singles. He is widely regarded as having the best ' ear for a song in the music business and has always considered the search for the right song to be his principal function.
During the early part of his career he found himself producing hits for artists who would then be wooed away from him by larger organisations. This eventually led to him starting his own record company, RAK Records, which has consistently achieved a higher ratio of hits to releases than any otlver label in the world.
More recently he has retreated into the administration of his companies, although he continues to produce such acts as Hot Chocolate and Racey, and was influential in the successful launch of Kim Wilde , both in the studio and in his capacity as a record company executive.
