by Roald Dahl, dramatised in two parts by Brian Sibley.
Danny thinks William Champion is the best father a boy ever had, but William is about to make some shocking disclosures. Part two is tomorrow at 2.15pm.
Family: page 15

Choice
Roald Dahl's hero Danny the Champion of the World (2.15pm R4) lives with his father in a caravan, in mutually supportive happiness - until the equilibrium of their lives is disrupted by mystery, danger, suspense, heroism and eventually that most Dahlian delicacy, sweet revenge. In this exciting dramatisation, the young Nick Robinson makes an excellent Danny, with Jack Dee as his father and Hywel Bennett as the rich and (of course) vulgar villain, Mr Hazell.
