Last June 60 pilots clambered aboard their aircraft to compete in the 1987 DEC Schneider Trophy Race. This famous competition dates back to 1913 when flying was for the privileged few and pilots raced seaplanes.
Nowadays, the will to win this famous trophy has not diminished. Sean Maffett finds out about the history of the Schneider Trophy and then dons his goggles to take part in one of Europe's largest air races.
