This is known as the teacher/ pupil relationship' (Giles Cooper, Radio Times, 1958)

A portrait of Sir Henry Wood Second of six programmes compiled and written by BRYAN CRIMP
Narrated by John Rowe
Sir Henry Wood will be forever associated with the Promenade Concerts, which he inaugurated at the Queen's Hall, London, on 10 August 1895. But there are other achievements to his name, including some orchestral transcriptions now sadly neglected. This portrait of the public and private man includes contributions from some of those who knew and loved him.

For centuries the romance and beauty of Venice has enchanted British visitors - among the most recent, last week, was Prince Charles. But a small resident British community also survives, despite hot, overcrowded summers, bleak winters, high prices and a shortage of jobs.
To help themselves stay in Venice, John and Chris Millerchip created the British Centre, which incorporates an international primary school, English language classes and cultural and artistic activities. Graham Tayar talks to them and to many others with Venetian connections, including Sir Ashley and Lady Clarke,
Christina Thoresby , Ona Low , Peter Lauritzen , Jan Morris ,
John Julius Norwich and Bishop Felix Arnott , about Britain's relationship with Venice, past and present. Producer GRAHAM TAYAR
