A portrait of Sir Henry Wood Second of six programmes compiled and written by BRYAN CRIMP
Narrated by John Rowe
Sir Henry Wood will be forever associated with the Promenade Concerts, which he inaugurated at the Queen's Hall, London, on 10 August 1895. But there are other achievements to his name, including some orchestral transcriptions now sadly neglected. This portrait of the public and private man includes contributions from some of those who knew and loved him.
