Dr Mahathir Mohamad
Prime Minister of Malaysia
A former physician,
Dr Mahathir served as Minister of Trade and Industry before becoming Prime Minister of Malaysia's coalition government in 1981. Since then he has fought for less corruption and greater efficiency in this booming multi-racial country. Today in Kuala Lumpur, linked to London by satellite, he answers questions from around the world in a phone-in chaired by Sue MacGregor and broadcast simultaneously with the BBC World Service.
