Your feet are made for walking, but do you take as much care of them as that implies you should? Foot problems and shoe comfort affect not just the way you walk but what happens to your knees and hips. Minor foot surgery brings relief to many people - and today it can be performed without hospitalisation or a general anaesthetic. Many foot troubles begin in childhood with ill-fitting shoes or minor complaints that have gone untreated. How far can foot disorders be prevented? To what degree do shoe manufacturers contribute to subsequent foot problems? Are thick soles better than thin?
Barry Francis, chiropodist and Lionel Freeman, shoe fitting specialist, join Judith Chalmers to answer your calls. Produced by the Woman's Hour Unit
