Some Americans who prefer to live in Britain: introduced by EDDIE MATTHEWS
(who is one himself) including
CARL FOREMAN , film producer DAVID BAUER , actor
JOHN BRlLEY , novelist
English society's a mess, but of all the societies I know it is conspicuously the best.
In America the only criterion is a dollar and cent criterion; here I can be a writer, an electrician, a painter, a carpenter - my life is measured in terms of me.
I thought, they're so slow. Everything takes a week. I've got more patience since.
There are so many things in the US that you wouldn'want your children growing up with. I said: you'll never get wet in an English rain.
I've even got the Englishman's disease of gardening.
