A love story by Compton Mackenzie adapted from his novel Figure of Eight
On a June evening in 1913 the ballet girls of the Orient Palace of Varieties had just heard of the death of Jenny Pearl. The gloom which the news had cast was not lightened by the arrival of Miss Chibbett. who peddled clothes at the theatre and was anxious to collect money owing to her.
