26 December 2004: in Thailand, a holidaying family admire their hotel's Christmas tree, while a German diver trawls the Indian Ocean for treasure. Elsewhere, a Tamil Tiger chief is on patrol in Sri Lanka, and in Indonesia a boy combs a rubbish dump for scraps. The link? An apocalyptic disaster leaving hundreds of thousands dead or destitute in 13 countries. This gripping documentary blends dramatic footage of the Asian tsunami with survivors' testimony to give viewers the unnerving impression of witnessing this terrifying event in real time. Bernard Hill narrates. Producer/Director Kevin Sim
