England v Netherlands
Live from Villa Park (kick-off 7.45), a friendly international that may provide England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson with some vital pointers in advance of March's resumption of the World Cup qualifiers.
England were beaten in their last match - a 1-0 defeat by Spain in Madrid last November - and are facing equally formidable opponents in their first match of 2005. The Dutch reached the semi-finals of Euro 2004 and have the players to transform any game in an instant, although the absence through injury of Manchester United's prolific Ruud van Nistelrooy may blunt their attacking edge.
Eriksson, whose first match in charge was also at this venue, is likely to introduce some fresh faces as he tries to identify his strongest team in time to face Northern Ireland at the end of next month.
Introduced by Gary Lineker. Commentary from
John Motson. A full re-run is at 12.45am.
