Son Barry Evans ran over quickly to Dr Trueman as he checked Barry's father Roy Evans (Tony Caunter)'s pulse and reveals that he is still alive but may have passed out after having a massive heart attack. The ambulance arrives already and takes an unconscious Roy to the hospital, Barry goes with him but wants Pat to leave them alone for good. Billy Mitchell, Little Mo, Ian Beale and Laura Beale were concerned for Pat as they find out about Roy's heart attack. Ian and Laura help her. At the Queen Vic pub, Alfie and Spencer decorated for St Patrick's Day celebrations when they are grateful about Nana Moon's song. Patrick tells Jim Branning (John Bardon) about son Paul looking after baby Eleanor, Jim comforts him. They then take advantage of Nana's celebrations when they arrive at the Vic for a surprise. Peggy is stunned when son Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) confesses that Lisa had left for Portugal and has taken baby Louise with her so that Phil could stay away. As DI Price leaves the house, Kate grows angry at Phil and ignores him about lying to Peggy about Lisa's real murder.

Meanwhile over at the hospital, Barry is upset when Dr Pierson tells him about Roy's health condition and reveals that he might have not long left to live with his heart problem. Pat turns up, Barry tells her to leave before barging into the room and sits with Roy at his bedside, he wakes up and believes that Pat isn't lying to him about the affair. Roy says to her, "You always loved Frank more than me" and Pat believes that she hates Frank and loves Roy even better. Meanwhile, he wants to talk to Barry. Barry then steps in and is devastated when Roy tells him that it is his final time of dying. Barry breaks down in his arms and takes his anger out on Pat as he leaves the hospital emotionally.
