Gary Lineker introduces live coverage of England's vital Group A clash with Germany at the Stade Communal in Charleroi, Belgium (kickoff 7.45pm).

In a tight group England cannot afford to slip up against their old rivals as they bid for a quarter-final place. Four years ago Germany ended England's hopes of a place in the Euro 96 final in a sudden-death shoot-out. Today's match will not go to penalties, but offers Euro 96 survivors such as David Seaman, Tony Adams and Alan Shearer the ideal opportunity to redress the balance. Neither side impressed in qualifying, but that means nothing as two of the big names in world football go head to head once again.

Highlights are at 12 midnight and a complete rerun of the match can be seen at 1.45am.
