Sir Peter Ustinov, in the company of Anthony Hopkins, Roger Moore, Glenda Jackson and David Suchet, sets a 'chain of light' in motion around the world, as thousands of people light candles in solidarity with victims of war. Tonight, millions of viewers worldwide will join in a statement of hope as the London Chamber Orchestra, directed by Christopher Warren Green, and other stars perform in the Avenue of Peace in Geneva, home of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent, and birthplace of the Conventions designed to protect victims of conflict. Tonight's programme is a musical and documentary appeal to the world community to enforce the provisions of the Geneva Conventions and halt the carnage.
