Torrey Canyon Today
Sixteen years ago a 1,000-foot long supertanker loaded with crude oil rammed the Seven Stones Reef almost within sight of Land's End and caused widespread pollution
Torrey Canyon achieved worldwide notoriety overnight as an illustration of the environmental risks of a modern society. Bombed, strafed and set ablaze, she s hidden from this infamy ever since at the bottom of the reef.
The underwater camera team of Laurie Emberson and Jeff Good-man show us what she is like today how nature, once insulted by the disaster, is claiming the Torrey Canyon as a permanent part of the reef.
