The most important cross-country race in the world with nearly 200 athletes from 21 nations taking part including USSR, competing for the first time, USA, holders of the women's and junior titles, Belgium, Finland and the four home countries over a gruelling 12km at Chepstow racecourse. Also at stake is the individual title won last year by Scotland's IAN STEWART. England, who finished second last year, and Belgium third, will again be among the favourites. Organised by the Welsh Cross-Country Association in conjunction with Bass Charrington.
