Teams representing England, Scotland and the Rest of Europe compete against the National Club Champions, Gateshead Harriers, led by BRENDAN FOSTER , over this gruelling 41-mile course overlooking the Tyne. jos HERMANS of Holland, the world record holder at 10 miles, and BRONISLAW MALIN -OWSKI of Poland, European 3,000 metres steeplechase champion, compete for Europe, and IAN STEWART , FRANK CLEMENT , TONY SIMMONS and DAVE BLACK lead the challenge from Scotland and England. Organised by the Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council in association with Jackson the Tailor.
