A series of talks commenting on current legal issues
32—Easements: an expanding concept
by a barrister
The owner of one piece of land may have rights over another—rights of way, for instance, or rights of light. Such ' easements ' for the benefit of an estate are nowadays not confined to a few well-established types, and the courts have recently been recognising new ' easements.' This talk discusses the significance of this tendency.

Talk by Sheila T. van der Horst Ph.D.
Senior Lecturer in Economics,
University of Cape Town
In this, the second of two opposing talks, Dr. van der Horst examines the changes in the Union's economy due to the rapid growth of manufacturing industries. She believes that the apartheid policy would only be practicable if mining and agriculture predominated, and that in present conditions and apart from other objections it would involve prohibitive and disruptive economic set-backs.
