A translation of some ninth-century Welsh poems with a reconstructed narrative
Produced by Elwyn Evans
The Red Book of Hergest, a medieval Welsh manuscript in the Bodleian Library, contains some 'hundreds of short verses known as the Llywarch Hên poems. Sir Ifor Williams, wlho has arranged these verses in sequence, believes that they formed part of two prose sagas. From comparison with other Celtic tales he has suggested the main themes of these lost sagfts, and on this research Glyn Jones and T. J. Morgan have reconstructed The Story of Llywarch the Old and The Misfortunes of Princess Heledd,
