Francis Loring (baritone)
Joseph Marx and Francesco Malipiero are two off-the-beaten-track composers, both of whom were born in 1882 and both of whom have held influential teaching positions in their respective countries. Marx is a conservative, late-romantic Austrian composer whose songs are notable for their deft craftsmanship, vocal grace, and genuine inventiveness. Malipiero is generally looked upon as one of the ounders of the modern musical movement in Italy. Donald Mitchell
