Eric Ravilious , painter and engraver, was serving as an official war artist when in 1942 he was reported missing while flying from Iceland. His friend Christopher Sandford published a number of the books for which Ravilious designed the illustrations. Mr. Sandford discusses the artist's personality and his varied achievements
