On March 17, 1337, Edward III granted a Charter to the Black Prince giving him lands and manors throughout England, but principally in the West. This estate, the Duchy of Cornwall. has been preserved almost intact to the present day. This short programme is in commemoration of the Charter, and is a preliminary to the full Duchy of Cornwall programme to be broadcast in May.
