Dr. Safeley, whose first charge was at Greenlaw,' Berwickshire, was minister of Hillhead Church, Glasgow and of Canmore Street Church, Dunfermhne, before he was unanimously called to Hawick Congregational Church this year Dr. Safeley has always taken an active part in the work of his denomination and has served on its College, General, and Central Fund Committees for varying periods.
