Pipe-Major Ross is instructor to the School of Army Pipers in Edinburgh Castle. For four successive years he held the title of Champion All-round Piper of Scotland, a record which won him the MacDonald shield. John Strachan is also a record-holder, being the youngest boy in Britain to gain the A.V.C.M. diploma.
