5—' The Rush Hour '
The problem of transferring large masses of men and women to and from their work every day in the industrial cities is a complicated one. W. Vane Morland , Transport Manager of the city of Leeds, and H. C. Godsmark , Transport Manager of Huddersfield, will speak tonight as officials on the merits of trams, buses, and trolley cars.
P. C. Lorriman , of the Leeds City
Police Force, will open the programme with a description of the rush hour in a big city, as seen by the man who controls the traffic. Various members of the public will then give their views as to the most satisfactory method of transport.
Annie M. Wood will speak in favour of trams, Blanche Horsneld of buses, I. H. Bate of trains. W. R. Hall will explain why, as a motorist, he does not use his motor daily, and Donald Boyd will try to convince the public that a bicycle is the only proper means of transport.
Conductor, JOHN HICKES
