Last week Dr. Ford described some of the consequences of a child receiving a defective genetic endowment from its parents. This time he speaks about mongolism-a condition encountered about one in every seven hundred births.
Until very recently the cause of mongolism was unknown, but now it has been discovered that it results from the affected individual receiving an extra small chromosome from one of the parents at conception.
