In this talk, one of our leading boxing referees is to describe exactly what a boxing contest is, and how it differs from a prize-fight.

Dalby is one of the British Boxing Board of Control's Honorary Referees, and has held a licence since 1929 when the present Body was re-organised. He was elected a member of the Referee's Examining Committee in 1931, in succession to the late J. W. H. T. Douglas. He refereed the contest for the Welterweight Championship of Great Britain between McCleave and Parker at Earl's Court on the night of the Petersen-McAvoy contest ; the Lightweight Championship between Mizler and Quinlan in 1934; the Phillips v. Wenstob bout at Wembley Stadium; and he was English judge in the Thil v. McAvoy bout in Paris in 1935.

Violin Concerto in A minor Glazunov
Glazunov's Violin Concetto in A minor was completed at St. Petersburg in 1904 and published in the following year. It is dedicated to the eminent violinist, Leopold Auer. There are three distinct movements of contrasting character, but they follow one another without a break.
It opens in moderate time, and the solo violin enters immediately with a broad flowing melody which has a large say in the first section. There are several changes of mood and of time before the actual second movement appears in a slower triple time. The theme of this will be recognised as closely akin to the opening. Striking use is made of the harp in the accompanying figures of this section. Again, here, the movement. passes through varying moods, and a brilliant cadenza for the solo instrument leads straight into the lively last movement. ORCHESTRA
