' The Street'
A Discussion between Mr. FRANK PICK and Mr. JOHN GLOAG
Tonight two men discuss the street as a work of art, a vision of the street that few who live in it understand. One of them is Mr. Frank Pick , President of the Designs and Industries Association, only full-time member of the London Passenger Transport Board, and guiding genius behind the enlightened advertising policy of London's Underground. The other is Mr. John Gloag , who described himself earlier in this series as ' a minor critic of architecture and architectural design.' They will consider the design of the street in relation to the traffic that passes through it ; the equipment that concerns its users, lights it, drains it, cleans it; the buildings that line it, and the vista it commands.
