MOZART pretty frequently wrote works for particular soloists-players of tite Flute.
Horn, Bassoon, Clarinet, and so on, most of whom were his friends.
In the present arrangement the original orchestra of Strings, two Oboes and two Horns is represented by the Octet.
Of the three Movements the FIRST is fively, yet broad and impressive, the SECOND, with muted accompanying strings, is calm and benignantly beautiful, and the LAST is a Kondo in Minuet style.
