THE STATION OCTET
DREAMS was originally one of a set of five songs which Wagner wrote in 1857. Two of them were later -published as 'Studies for Tristan and Isolde.' While Wagner was working upon this Music Drama he found a melody from the song Dreams constantly recurring to his mind. and used it in the love music of the drama. Of the song itself he said : ' It is more beautiful than anything eke I have done.'
