SINCE we all began reading ' Moby Dick ' again, the epic grandeur of the whaler is no longer a secret to us. Even in these days of steamships and up-to-date harpoons, whaling is still a stern and thrilling business, and a trip in a whaler would bo adventure enough to satisfy most of us. Mr. Frank Morley (who is an American who came here as a Rhodes Scholar and has stayed as a writer and editor) took such a trip in a Shetland whaler not long ago, and described his experiences in his contribution to that interesting book, ' Whaling North and South.' In this evening's talk he will describo how the biggest creature on tho face of the earth is caught.

THE capitals of the Balkan States may not always be so imposing as the groat cities of Western Europe, and some of them are, as capitals, comparatively new, but even these make up for their lack of a longer history by the number of exciting things that have happened in them in tho last few years. Mr. Woods knows this part of tho world well. Ho was Special Correspondent of The Times in the Balkans in 1911, and later ho was Special Correspondent in tho Balkan War for The Evening News.
