LABOUR-SAVING in the household is in fashion these days, and Mrs. Frederick is a real expert on the subject. She runs her own house as a Household Experiment Station, and there she tests out new ideas before propagating them in public. As Household Editor of the Ladies' Home Journal-a home magazine with one of the biggest circulations in the United States-she did much to introduce the methods of industrial efficiency into household work, and English housewives who want to get an idea of modern American domestic technique will have their chance when she broadcasts this afternoon.

The relations of the man of science with the public are usually mysterious, and when they are not, they are frequently controversial. Dr. Spielmann is an indubitable scientist - an expert particularly on the coal tar and petroleum industries - and, as a high official of the Ministry of Munitions during the war, and of a highways construction company since, he has had enough active contact with affairs to give him every right to speak on this subject tonight.
