Radio spans the world to link the cities of Sydney, Toronto, and London in a series of general knowledge contests between schoolchildren in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom

Sydney team: Ruth Kronenberg, Nigel Starr, Robert Day
Question-Master, John Dease
London team: Sally Green, David Seymour-King, Allan Ronald
Question-Master, John Ellison
Questions set by Roy Smith
Producer in Sydney, Hal Lashwood
Producer in London, Joan Clark

'Top Team' is also broadcast over the national networks in Australia and Canada

Top Team
What do the children of this country know about Canada? And are Canadian children at all interested in life in Britain? How much do children in Australia know about affairs in Britain and Canada-and vice versa? Top Team will tell us.

Resident teams of three schoolchildren in London, Sydney, and Toronto meet in a seven-week contest of general knowledge. Each country will play twice against the opposing two countries on a league-points basis. After six weeks, the two teams with the most points will play in a knock-out contest to find the eventual winner.

The British team includes three of the children who took Part in Top of the Form last autumn: Allan Ronald-Captain of the team from Falkirk High School, which won the Trophy; Sally Green, from James Allen's Girls' School, Dulwich, who were the runners-up; and David Seymour-King, of Quintin School. These three are up against tough opposition from the Australian team-two of whom are regular broadcasters in the famous Quiz Kids series, which has been broadcast on radio and television in Sydney for twenty-four years. Canada, too, is no stranger to children's quiz programmes, so this should be a hard-fought contest.
