Produced by JOHN RICHMOND and EILEEN CULLEN
Repeated Wednesday, 11.15 a.m
A man confessed to the murder of Arthur Devenish and Dr. Dale was puzzled by Tom Draycott 's reaction to the news. But the confession was a false one and the man was released. Gerald Devenish met Gwen on the common at night and frightened her by insinuating that she knew something about his father's death. Jenny arrived back late from rehearsal one night and Joe gave her a lift home: on the way they saw a man, whom Joe recognised as Sam Garnett , being driven away in a police car.
