asks Wilfred Pickles
Have you lost touch with old friends, neighbours, work-mates, or comrades in the Forces?
Wilfred would like to help bring about a reunion by telling your story and playing a record for you.
'The idea of this programme occurred to Mabel and me at the fireside one night several years ago. laid Wilfred.. It was an instant hit, and I'm very glad to be back. The sole purpose is to bring together friend. and acquaintances who've lost touch with each other down the year. We don't want requests to find long-lost relations if a family isn't united, there's something wrong somewhere. Our theme is 'friendship.'
Wilfred emphasised that the best way to get your request included is to introduce an amusing anecdote. and if possible the name of a song or tune, tying up with the circumstances of your original meeting. 'Sometimes the programme works like a charm,' he said. 'I remember a case where a chap phoned up while I was still on the air. He was living in the next street from his old chum, yet they hadn't met for twenty-five years.' If there is someone you would like to meet again, why not send in your story? Address it to Wilfred Pickles, Where Are You Now' Broadcasting House, London, W.1. (Ernest Thomson)
