This is the story of the Emergency Call Service ... of the doctors who patrol the streets of the metropolis at night in their radio-equipped cars. On Friday July 13, 1956, two young men returned by air from a holiday in Rome. They were suffering from typhoid. A quick-thinking policeman, a shrewd on-the-spot diagnosis by an Emergency Call Service flying doctor, and what might have become a dangerous epidemic was prevented before it could begin.
