A programme for children under five
Nursery rhymes, stories, and music
Children have always needed dolls, creatures they can smack or caress according to their mood. In their company the child plays out the situations it has observed in the grown-up world. It is not surprising, then, that both girls and boys love stories about dolls in all their forms, and that they have asked so often to hear again those by Jane Alan about Lulupet, the kind, capable doll, and Toffee, "the funny teddy-bear. Julia Lang tells these stories today, tomorrow, and on Wednesday. On Thursday follows a realistic story called ' Winifred and the Lamb.' by E. R. Hutl , and on Friday, ' The Lost Boots.' by E. Rogers , both told by Daphne Oxenford.

Mrs. Dale, the doctor's wife. records the daily happenings in the life of her family
Script by Jonquil Antony
Last week Sally persuaded Grandfather Dale to assemble the jig-saw puzzle that Dr. Dale had given him. To Mrs. Dale's relief he became very absorbed in it and quite happily stayed in his bedroom till lunch-time. When, with the help of Mrs. Freeman, it was nearly completed, Captain jumped onto the puzzle and scattered it.Grandfather
Dale and Mrs. Freeman, Grandfather Dale insisting that he was going to stay until he had completed the puzzle. Mrs. Morgan was upset because MaRgs was unhappy lodging with Mrs. Mustoe; and Dotty refused to be solaced. Mrs Freeman went to see Dotty and suggested that Mrs. Humphries would be glad of her help. Elaine Allardyce asked Mrs. Dale if she would look after Timothy because she had a date with a young man from South Africa. Isabel Fielding, who had met the young man, said he was going to propose to Elaine. This worried Mrs. Dale, because, as Dr. Dale remarked, she had set her mind on having Elaine as a daughter-in-law. However, it transpired that Elaine refused him because of Christopher and Timothy.
