Julia Lang. Daphne Oxenford , and Catherine Edwards are three names that have endeared themselves to thousands of under-fives. For the past twenty months these three eagerly-awaited microphone friends have taken it in turn to bring them their daily story and to introduce their nursery rhymes, and now Junior Lamb , Dappy Oxen , and Captaleen Edwards are to be joined by a fourth. Catherine Edwards will introduce her to our listeners on Friday of this week, and next week Dorothy Smitlh will embark . upon her tirst month of storytelling. We are sure she will quickly be as warmly welcomed as her colleagues-as for what her young audience will make of her name, we shall have to wait and seel
What sort of a clock is a dandelion clock'? And how does it tell you the time? Perhaps mothers will help us here by making sure that their children know the answers to these questions, for they are answers that they need to know if they are fully to understand and appreciate the story for this coming Thursday, Leslie Barnard's seasonable tale called ' The One

Last Saturday Bob should have gone on holiday but on Friday evening Michael telephoned to say his senior partner had suddenly been taken ill and the trip to France would have to be cancelled. Bob was very disappointed and mooned around the house getting in everyone's way. Alec came . to lunch and suggested Bob should accompany him to Brighton for a couple of days. Alec paying all the expenses as it was a business trip. Alec had his business appointment in the evening but promised to be back by nine. At ten he still had not returned. The next morning at breakfast he was most crestfallen and admitted he had been playing poker the night before and lost every penny, with the result that Bob had to pay the hotel bill. Dr. Dale met an old friend who was looking for someone to manage the floral department in a big store in Oxford Street. Dr. and Mrs. Dale thought Sally should try for the position, so Sally rang Mr. Morris and arranged to lunch with him on Friday.
