Voices closely associated with the earliest pages of the 'Itma' story are heard again tonight. No better broadcast of 'Itma' could be chosen than the three hundredth performance as a tribute to Tommy Handley, who was mourned by a multitude of listeners exactly two years ago. This programme, which was first broadcast on October 28, 1948, is especially appropriate, since among the guests who celebrated the occasion were some of the early 'Itma' stalwarts, including Dorothy Summers (Mrs. Mopp), Dino Galvani (Signor So-so), Horace Percival (Don't forget the diver), Sydney Keith (Sam Scram), Clarence Wright (Nice day - I'll call again), and Lind Joyce.

Philately is a national hobby which fascinates the collector as much as it bores and puzzles the non-collector. Why are millions of pounds a year spent on these tiny scraps of paper? How can a single used stamp be worth more than £5,000? Is stamp-collecting a hobby, an industry - or just a waste of time?
