Joyce Grenfell actress, writer, and broadcaster. recalls the war years. 1939-45. as the time of her life
It was the time when she played in several of Herbert Farjeon 's revues; was welfare officer in a Canadian Red Cross hospital; and entertained the troops in Northern Ireland, Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and India.
Joyce Grenfell was playing in Noël Coward's Sigh No More when the - war ended; she introduces songs from this and other revues and popular songs of the time, as well as straight music and the voices of many well-remembered wartime broadcasters.
