Scotland-Orkney
Once a Viking stronghold, Orkney, consisting of 100 islands balanced on the northern tip of Scotland, provides a setting for archaeologists, fishermen, bird watchers, and those who would like to play golf at midnight in midsummer. Young Orcadians enjoy an active outdoor life, including canoeing and barbecues on almost deserted islands.
The programme is introduced by BILL HEWISON and the story of the islands' history is told by ERNEST MARWICK and fellow Orcadians
