What is Teacher really like?
'I don't like the image teachers have with the children, as a sort of sexless robot.'
'I don't like to be called "Sir" at any time because I never call anybody "Sir" myself.'
Sidney Palmer and John Darling, both young teachers themselves, have compiled a personal portrait of their colleagues, showing why people enter the profession, the rewards and trials of the job, and how their own beliefs and conduct measure up to their classroom pronouncements.
