ANIMAL CLOCKS by A. D. Lees , Ph.D. of the A.R.C. Unit of Insect Physiology, Cambridge
Many animals have a well-developed time sense. Without it honey bees and migrating birds could not navigate, and greenfly could not tell summer from autumn. This timekeeping is so accurate that the processes concerned are called ' internal clocks.' Recent research has located these clocks, but how they work is not yet known. Thursday's recorded broadcast in Network Three
by Ernie Bradford
Ernie Bradford , historian and yachts-man, describes a day's sailing off the coast of Malta, and a visit to the islet where St. Paul was reputedly shipwrecked. He suggests a new theory on the exact location of the shipwreck— the * place where two seas met.'
