Characters in order of speaking:
Produced by Martyn C. Webster
The action takes place in London before the First World War.
Jeffery Panton has been jilted and has not seen Isabel, bis ex-fiancee, since the unhappy occasion. But one day she calls on him, to the horror of his sister Lady Milligan, and tells him that her husband is having an affair and begs Jeffery to go and plead with the woman in question-a certain Mrs. Guildford. Devoted as he is to Isabel as a memory, Jeffery finds this proposition unattractive -but of course he goes.
