Portrait of an unknown village
On the southernmost tip of Cornwall is the tiny fishing village of Cadgwith. Is it the charm of the slate-grey cove with its seven bright fishing boats, the arum lilies round the lime-washed cottages, or the humour and independence of its people and the fine singing in the pub that make it a place you can never forget?
PETER LESLIE, who first went there as a child twenty-three years ago, found on a recent visit that, in spite of the inevitable changes brought by time, the special atmosphere of Cadgwith is as compelling as ever.
In this programme he introduces the voices of the people who live there.

' End of the Road to Nowhere ' is an impression of an Australian ghost town. Towns such as this are not uncommon in Australia. They are the result of the rapid exhaustion of gold or coal deposits, or the replacement of river traffic by a railway. This particular ghost town is a mining one in New South Wales.
